Tori DeGroote, Program Director – Mission Viejo, CA / Counselor
Tori DeGroote has over 6 years of experience in the addiction field building alumni and continuing care programs, serving as a marketing and outreach manager, building community connections as well as serving as a lead case manager and AOD counselor. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business as well as a CATC III in addictions counseling. Having over 8 years of personal recovery, Tori understands what it takes to obtain long-term sobriety. Her passion remains in the addiction field assisting patients and family members with long term recovery as well as being an active advocate providing addiction prevention, education and awareness programs throughout the community.

As an accredited Massage Therapist, Gregri Hanson has worked on various clients doing bodywork on people in recovery. Hanson is certified from the Healing Hands School of Holistic Health and specializes in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports & Shiatsu message.
ROBERT KARLSSON – Nutritionist & Administrative Director
Robert Karlsson is a clinical nutritionist and health care consultant working with local schools, community centers, and substance abuse recovery centers across Southern California. Over last decade, his fascination with nutrient deficiencies led him to focus on depletion’s caused by poor diet and toxic states that prevented the body from healing at its optimal performance. His techniques to healing are easily integrated into modern medical treatment programs of all sorts. Here is a little more background into his training and philosophy.
His main mentor was Dr. Frank Varese, M.D., who was a pioneer in longevity medicine and devoted his practice to finding health and wellness solutions for patients who could not find the answers they needed from their regular doctors. He worked with Dr.Varese for six years.
Furthermore, he has long history in working with large corporations in the arena of business analytics and operations where his skills are now being used in his recently added role of Turning Point’s Administrative Director.
DR. EDWARD KAUFMAN – M.D., Consulting Psychiatrist
Dr. Edward Kaufman is an independent psychiatrist. He has been practicing psychiatry for over 40 years. His specialties include addiction medicine, depression and anxiety. In addition to his education below, he has authored several books and is former president of the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry and former professor at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine / Director of Psychiatric Services and Residency Education. Dr. Kaufman graduated Thomas Jefferson University, Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, PA in 1960.

Dr. Bruce Seligsohn, MD – Consulting Physician
Dr. Bruce Seligsohn is an internist specializing in Addiction Medicine in Mission Viejo, California and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Mission Hospital and Saddleback Memorial Medical Center. He received his medical degree from Meharry Medical College and has been in practice for more than 20 years.
Michelle Fishel – Program Director – Temecula, CA – Drug and Alcohol Counselor Certified Addictions Treatment Counselor III (CATC-III)
Michelle Fishele has over 9 years of personal recovery and while managing a 16 bed women’s recovery home for 5 year in Orange County she discovered her calling in the field. She witnessed the growing need to help individuals that are helpless and struggling with addiction issues and understood what it takes in order to achieve long term sobriety. Michelle graduated with honors Summa Cum Laude from Grand Canyon University with a Bachelor of Science with an emphasis in addiction, chemical dependency, and substance abuse including special training on opioid overdose, prevention, recognition, and response from Boston University School of Medicine. Michelle specializes in CBT, DBT, relapse prevention, case management, crisis intervention, education, and rehabilitation services for the clients. Michelle currently has her Certified Addictions Treatment Counselor III (CATC-III), RADT-I, CPR/First-aid certificate and is a member of CAADE, NAADAC, and CCAPP.
Michelle Finlayson -Registered Alcohol and Drug Technician
Michelle Finlayson joined our team at Turning Point Treatment Center in 2017. Michelle is currently working on her Counselor Certification through CCAPP. Michelle is currently a member of CCAPP and holds a RADT-1. Michelle is currently working towards her degree in Psychology at the University of Phoenix. Michelle has been in the field for over 5 years and has held numerous positions in treatment, including BHT 1 and 2, Intake coordinator, case manager, and driver with a current class B license. Michelle holds a current first aid and CPR certificate, DBT training, life coach certified, is bilingual, and has 9 years in recovery herself. Michelle has committed her life to working with and supporting those seeking recovery.
Mark Crow – Drug and Alcohol Counselor Certified Addictions Treatment Counselor II (CATC-II)
Mark Crow is a CAADE intern and an experienced alcohol and drug counselor. He is a graduate of Saddleback College with an A.S. Degree in Human Services, an AOD Certificate and a Mental Health Certificate. Mark’s expertise includes using Motivational Interviewing to draw clients into therapeutic dialogs. His experience includes working in Outpatient and Residential Alcohol and Drug Treatment programs.
